Steve Johnson is the principal laboratory machinist in the Center for Applied Research and Technology Development research, prototype and product development Machine Shop. He interacts with researchers and inventors on a daily basis. His assistance can be as simple as filling a request for hardware, or as complex as contributing to the design and fabrication of a complex product or piece of sophisticated research equipment. Steve has been involved in the machining trade for nearly 28 years and has worked in IBM's development and research facilities in Rochester, Minnesota; Boulder, Colorado; and Charlotte, North Carolina. Steve has been actively involved in the fabrication side of research projects at NRRI for several years. He is also actively involved with NRRI's Safety Committee.
