Robert Vatalaro, Principal Research Shop Foreman

Position and Focus

Robert Vatalaro is a principal research shop foreman for the Wood Materials and Manufacturing Program. His major responsibilities include: coordination of laboratory testing projects on a variety of wood-based materials, fabrication of wood products and/or equipment in an industrial laboratory setting and coordination of manufacturing projects for composite products. Bob specializes in test fixture design and large specimen testing per ASTM standards. He has 14 years experience in providing assistance in prototype development, metal fabrication, machinery operation, maintenance, and welding. He also provides NRRI staff with annual forklift safety training.
