Pam Sarvela manages NRRI's Intellectual Property portfolio, serving as a liaison between NRRI and the University's Licensing Center. Further, she provides support to the NRRI staff with business development needs, such as business planning, financial projections, and marketing research. She is supported in this function through UMD's Center for Economic Development.
She holds the designation of a Certified Economic Developer (CEcD) from the International Economic Development Council and has lived and/or worked in the N.E. Minnesota region all of her life. Prior to joining UMD, she served as a business and marketing instructor for the Wisconsin Indianhead Technical College. She gained her expertise as an employee of Minnesota Power. Over her 22+ years with Minnesota Power, she worked in professional positions in the areas of economic development, power marketing, systems & procedures, customer accounting and human resources. She earned a Master of Arts Degree in organizational management from Concordia University in St. Paul and a Baccalaureate of Arts Degree from the University of Minnesota Duluth.
