Bill Berguson, Program Director

Position and Focus

Bill Berguson is the director of the Forestry Program within the Forestry/Forest Products Division of the Center for Applied Research and Technology Development. Bill's responsibilities include management of projects and personnel in the forestry program area and chair of the Minnesota Hybrid Poplar Research Cooperative. NRRI's Forestry Program is focused on genetic improvement and management of hybrid poplar plantations and silviculture of aspen stands. Bill has 20+ years experience working in plantation productivity research and natural aspen stand management. He also serves on various committees involved in formulating forest management policy and research priorities in the state.
