Moose Advisory Committee

The Moose Advisory Committee (MAC) was formed by the MN DNR at the directive of the State Legislature. Committee members represented a cross-section of moose experts, land managers, wildlife managers, tribal staff, and other key stakeholders.  The MAC developed recommendations to the DNR and other stakeholders for moose management and research.

After an initial organizing meeting in September 2008, out-of-state moose experts presented information at a fact-finding Moose Summit in December 2008 in Duluth.  PDF’s of the Moose Summit presentations are available here or on the MN DNR moose web site (see below).

The most important MAC document is the MAC report to the MN DNR, which presents background information and recommendations to the DNR. It is available here and also from the MN DNR moose web page (see below).
