Land Cover

  • We have classified 49 land cover types from thematic mapper (TM) satellite imagery representing two periods of time during our survey, the early 1990s and mid-1990s.
  • We use these data to compute landscape metrics around each forest stand.
  • We use habitat variables derived from multiple spatial scales (survey site, forest stand and landscape) to build our statistical models.

Each color on the map represents a unique forest cover type except for the bright green color which is agriculture
