This video of L07 and three kittens was taken on 3/16/06. She had been located about a mile away with telemetry. We checked a couple other bait sites, and heading towards the office spotted a couple of lynx on the forest edge. We stopped the truck and backed it up, and they were still there, but starting to move into the alders a little. They paralelled the road and luckily walked through the opening in which this clip as a family group.

Lynx Release.

This is L28.  It was mating season in 2006, and he wandered several miles from his normal home range and was caught here, when we were trying to radiocollar a different female.  The trap was near a highway, so we wanted to be sure that he had left.  Notice how he slowly backs out and then leaves when he realizes he is free.
