| The Sixth Indo-US Workshop on Mathematical Chemistry (with applications to chemoinformatics, bioinformatics, molecular design, and new drug discovery) will be held in January, 2010. The meeting will begin on January 8, 2010 and run through January 10. The meeting is being sponsored jointly by the Natural Resources Research Institute of the University of Minnesota Duluth, (USA), the University of Minnesota, the International Society of Mathematical Chemistry (ISMC), and the Eastern Indian Chapter of ISMC. The meeting will be organized on the campus of the Heritage Institute of Technology, Kolkata, India.
Subhash C. Basak,, President, International Society of Mathematical Chemistry (ISMC) and Dilip K. Sinha, President, Eastern Indian Chapter of ISMC, Kolkata, are the Chairpersons of the meeting from USA and India, respectively The Sixth Indo-US Workshop on Mathematical Chemistry will bring together scientists involved in basic and applied research in the fields Mathematical and Computational Chemistry. Eminent specialists from USA and India will deliver the lead lectures. Presentations from younger research communities in universities, research laboratories, and institutions, both corporate and public are envisaged. Talented research students showing promises are also being looked for presentation of papers. The results of the latest research in the field will be presented along with important applications to chemistry, drug discovery, environmental protection, quantitative structure-activity relationships (QSARs), quantitative molecular similarity analysis (QMSA), chemoinformatics and bioinformatics, including genomics, proteomics, systems biology, and metabolomics. The program of the Sixth Indo-US workshop will be designed based on our experience gained from conducting five previous Indo-US Workshops on Mathematical Chemistry (www.nrri.umn.edu/indousworkshop/ ) four Indo-US Lecture Series on Discrete Mathematical Chemistry (www.nrri.umn.edu/indouslecture), and the First Mathematical Chemistry Workshop of the Americas: ( http://sites.google.com/site/mathchemamericas/) held during 1998 through 2009. Previous Workshops: The Fifth Indo-US Workshop was held June 22-27, 2008 at the University of Minnesota Duluth, USA . The Mathematical Chemistry Conference and (Indo-US) Workshop are natural partners, and jointly are to bring together leading scientists involved in basic and applied research in the fields of Discrete Mathematics, Mathematical Chemistry, and Computational Chemistry. Results of the latest research in these fields will be presented along with important applications of mathematical and computational approaches to chemistry, chemical combinatorics, chemical graph theory, drug discovery, environmental toxicology, partial orderings in chemistry, quantitative structure-activity relationships (QSAR), quantitative molecular similarity analysis (QMSA), chemoinformatics and bioinformatics (including genomics, proteomics, systems biology, and metabolomics).
