Workshop News
  • August 19, 2003 - The conference is over and clean-up is done. We'll be posting the abstracts to the website within the next few days along with information regarding the submission of manuscripts for special journal issues and some pictures from the conference. If you have any pictures you'd like to share, please email them to indo-us3@nrri.umn.edu.
  • August 1, 2003 - There have been some revisions to the program. An updated program is available on the web site and in your registration packets upon checking in at UMD.
  • August 1, 2003 - An airport shuttle will be available for all conference participants. The shuttle service, Alpha and Omega Transportation, will have a van at the airport to meet each incoming flight. The van will have a sign in its window indicating that it is for Math/Chem Registrants. This shuttle can provide you with transportation to Lake Superior Hall if you are staying on-campus or to the Radisson hotel.
  • July 16, 2003 - While the deadline for our contract with the Radisson hotel has passed, rooms are currently still available at the conference rate on a first-come basis. Additionally, we will be sending out some registration reminders and more detailed information to our presenters in the very near future.
  • June 24, 2003 - A tentative workshop schedule has been posted on the Program page. The general schedule for the conference is set, but there may still be some changes in the presentation schedule.
  • June 20, 2003 - The early registration deadline has passed, but we will continue to accept registration for the workshop at the standard registration fee.
  • June 12, 2003 - Due to some unforeseen setbacks in establishing the tentative program, the Organizing Committee has decided to extend the early registration deadline. The early registration deadline is now Friday, June 20th. We hope to have confirmation emails sent out to all of the platform and poster presenters by the end of the day tomorrow.
  • May 14, 2003 - The registration materials are now available on the website. We have a secure website for on-line registration, or you can download and print out the registration form and mail it in with your check or money order. See the registration page for more details. Due to the delay in getting registration materials on-line, the Call for Abstracts has been extended until May 21, 2003. A note to this effect will be sent out shortly.
  • April 24, 2003 - After a minor glitch, the Final Call for Abstracts is out. Next Monday is the deadline for abstract submission.
  • March 25, 2003 - The Second Call for Abstracts is out. As a quick reminder, abstracts are due by the end of the day, 11:59pm CST, April 28th, 2003.
  • March 6, 2003 - The Travel page is now active. On it you'll find information regarding specially contracted air fare with Northwest and Continental Airlines, lodging accomodations for the conference, and other information relevant to travel to Duluth, MN.
  • February 17, 2003 - The Call for Abstracts is out. All of the details for abstract submission can be found on the Call for Abstracts page. If you did not receive a copy via email, you are not on our current email list for the workshop. If you would like to be added to the list, or need to provide a new email address, please send an email message including your regular contact information as well as your email address to the Third Indo-US Workshop mailing list.

The Third Indo-US Workshop on Mathematical Chemistry with applications to drug design, risk assessment of chemicals, chemoinformatics, bioinformatics, computational biology and toxicology will be held during August 3-7, 2003, at the University of Minnesota campus in Duluth, Minnesota. The conference is being sponsored in part by the Natural Resources Research Institute, University of Minnesota Duluth, (USA).

Subhash C. Basak, Natural Resources Research Institute, University of Minnesota Duluth (USA) and Dilip K. Sinha, University of Calcutta (India) are the Co-Chairpersons of the Indo-US Workshop on Mathematical Chemistry Series from the United States and India, respectively.

The First Indo-US Workshop was held during January 9-13, 1998, at Visva Bharati University, Santiniketan, West Bengal, India. The Second Indo-US Workshop was held at the University of Minnesota Duluth, USA, during May 30-June 3, 2000. Over one hundred scientists from four continents participated in both the First and Second Indo-US Workshops.

The Third Indo-US Workshop will bring together leading researchers in the field of Mathematical and Computational Chemistry. The results of the latest research in the field will be presented along with important applications of mathematical and computational chemistry, quantitative approaches to drug discovery, environmental toxicology, quantitative structure-activity relationships (QSAR), quantitative molecular similarity analysis (QMSA), chemoinformatics and bioinformatics, including genomics and proteomics.

Tentative titles for presentations are now being accepted for the Third Indo-US Workshop. If you are interested in participating in this workshop please send the title of your presentation along with your name and contact information by email (preferred), fax or mail to:
