The Great Lakes Ecological Assessment is an interagency effort to collect and consolidate new and existing environmental, biological, and socioeconomic information to provide a scientific basis for resource planning and management in the Northern Lake States.

The Natural Resources Research Institute has been a cooperator in the Great Lakes Ecological Assessment since its inception.  We have conducted a number of  spatial analyses and have developed data visualizations and decision support tools in support of the overall objectives of the GLA.  This web site summarizes our major research projects over the five years that we have been involved in the project.  Use the links below to learn about the individual projects.

Mapping Potential Evapotranspiration
Spatial Analysis of Landscape Pattern
Visualizing Landscape Pattern

This project is funded by the USFS Great Lakes Assessment Project, Rhinelander Wisconsin, which in turn was funded in part by the National Partnership for Reinventing Government.  For more information on this project, contact George Host.
