This educational video was created by Dr. R. Bruce Allison, consulting arborist and Adjunct Professor of Forest and Wildlife Ecology at the University of Wisconsin, Madison in cooperation with Dr. Xiping Wang of the University of Minnesota Duluth and the USDA Forest Service. This educational presentation was created to familiarize tree managers with a procedure to detect internal decay in standing trees using a combination of visual inspection plus acoustic and microdrill tools.
